Utilizing the distinctive strengths of having five undergraduate Faculties and six Graduate Schools gathered together on a single campus,Mie University is advancing“Higher Education for Future Society”and“Unique Academic Research with Variation”that engages all faculty and staff members.As well as proclaiming itself a“Regional Innovation University,”Mie University upholds the ideal of being a“World-class Environmentally Advanced University,”and seeks to make these ideals into reality under the strong leadership of the President. Members of the Mie University community are attuned to the needs and expectations not only of the students that gather on the university's campus,but also the local governments,companies,and local residents that collaborate with the university. Guided by the university's Admission Policy,Curriculum Policy,and Diploma Policy,they are working pro-actively to create a“World-class Environmentally Advanced University”Mie University shall comprehend international trends such as the SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals) and Society 5.0 (a new society capable of resolving social problems),maintain high awareness of environmental issues,and respond to the major social transformations that lie ahead.Through education, research and contributions to regional society,the university shall endeavor to use resources sustainably,mitigate the effects of climate change,and conserve biodiversity.It shall comply with environment-related laws,regulations,and other requirements,and lead the development of a society driven by sustainable cycles and harmonized with the attractive natural environment.
